The History of St. Mary's Church, Ipswich

well think that this is a new parish which grew out of an expanding town
population: but in fact you are standing near the oldest Catholic
church in Ipswich since the Reformation.
The History of the Church of the Holy Family and St. Michael's, Kesgrave
The church was built in 1931 in memory of Squadron Leader Michael Rope and the 47 others, including the Secretary of State of Air, who died with him in the wreck of HM Airship R101 at Allonne near Beauvais on 5th October 1930.

Live Simply Wildflower Gardens - as part of our Live Simply parish commitment we are being invited to plant a wildflower patch in our gardens. The Parish will supply some seed - please see the leaflet at the back of church and sign up on the form at the back of the Church. Your wildflower patch could be as small or as large as you like, but nothing too onerous - from a metre square to ... well you decide.
